M. P. C. Board has established its Central laboratory at Navi Mumbai and Regional laboratories at Pune, Nashik, Nagpur, Aurangabad, Thane, Chiplun and Chandrapur.

The major objectives of these laboratories are:

• Carryout analysis of Water, Wastewater, Air, Bio-Medical waste, Hazardous waste samples etc. which are categorized as Environmental samples, Joint Vigilance Samples and Law Evidence Samples.
• Execute various sponsored R & D project of CPCB with regard to sampling, analysis and reporting.
• To plan and conduct Research, investigation and Development Project in specific areas of interest for the state of Maharashtra in the field of prevention and control of pollution, environmental management & public awareness.

• Conduct Inter & Intra laboratory Analytical Quality Control (AQC) exercise for its laboratories.

• Conducting periodical training programs to enhance the skills for scientific staff of the Board.
